The BONEHAM H408KG is a Type H press fit headed drill bushing manufactured from steel for use in drill jig applications. It features an inside diameter of 13/32 inches with a tight tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0005 inches, a body outside diameter of 5/8 inches, and a length under head of 1/2 inch. The head outside diameter measures 51/64 inches with a head height of 7/32 inches. This bushing is pressed directly into a jig plate without a locking collar, making it a fixed, non-renewable installation. Machinists and toolmakers install this component to guide drill bits accurately and consistently during production drilling operations.
The H408KG is suited for use in drill jigs on production and job-shop floors where repeatable hole location accuracy is required. The headed style seats flush against the top face of the jig plate, preventing the bushing from being pushed through under drilling pressure. Steel construction provides the hardness and wear resistance needed for high-cycle drilling of metals and other hard materials. This part is sold individually and is appropriate for custom jig builds or direct replacement of worn press fit bushings in existing tooling.
Designed as a fixed press fit replacement or new-build bushing for standard drill jig plates requiring a Type H headed bushing with a 13/32 inch inside diameter and 5/8 inch body outside diameter.
Press fit bushings are installed by machinists or toolmakers using an arbor press or hydraulic press; never drive them in with a hammer, as this can damage the bore or distort the bushing. The receiving bore in the jig plate must be machined to the correct interference fit tolerance before installation. Once pressed in, the H408KG is a permanent, non-renewable installation and must be bored out for removal. Ensure the jig plate is secure and properly supported on the press bed before applying force.
