The BONEHAM H4012JQ is a Type H press fit headed drill bushing manufactured from steel and designed to guide drill bits and other cutting tools with precision during machining and fabrication operations. With an inside diameter of 0.375 inches and a body outside diameter of 0.625 inches, this bushing provides close-tolerance guidance for repeatable hole location. The hardness rating of 60 to 65 HRC ensures long service life under the abrasive conditions typical of production drilling. Inside diameter tolerance is held to +0.0001 to +0.0005 inches, meeting ANSI standards. Machinists, toolmakers, and fabricators install this type of bushing into jig plates and fixture bodies.
This bushing is suited for use in drill jig fixtures in both job-shop and production machining environments. The headed design seats against the top face of the jig plate, providing positive axial location without additional retention hardware. A length under head of 0.75 inches accommodates standard jig plate thicknesses. It is press fit directly into a prepared hole in the jig body, making it a permanent, non-renewable installation. Applications include repetitive drilling, reaming, and similar guided cutting operations where consistent hole placement is required.
Designed as an OEM-style Type H press fit headed drill bushing for use in standard jig plates and fixture bodies requiring a 0.625-inch body outside diameter press fit bore.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolmaker using an arbor press to drive the bushing flush and square into a properly sized and finished bore in the jig plate. The receiving bore should be machined to the appropriate interference fit tolerance before pressing. Power down all machinery before handling or installing fixture components. Because this is a permanent press fit bushing, removal will damage the bushing and may damage the jig plate bore - plan installation accordingly.
