The BONEHAM H326FZ is a Type H press fit headed drill bushing manufactured from steel and designed to guide drill bits with precision in jig and fixture applications. It features a 0.196 inch inside diameter (wire gauge No. 9) and a body outside diameter of 0.5 inches, with a length under the head of 0.375 inches. The hardness rating runs 60 to 65 HRC, delivering the wear resistance required for repeated drilling operations. The inside diameter tolerance is held to +0.0001 to +0.0004 inches, ensuring consistent hole location across production runs. Machinists, tool and die makers, and fixture builders install this bushing in drill jigs where permanent, non-renewable bushing installations are acceptable.
This bushing is suited for production and maintenance machining environments where a press fit installation into a drill jig plate is required. The headed design allows the bushing to seat flush against the jig plate surface, preventing the bushing from being pushed through during drilling. It is a non-renewable (permanent) style bushing, making it appropriate for dedicated fixtures with fixed tooling requirements. The ANSI-standard design ensures dimensional interchangeability with other ANSI-compliant jig bushing systems.
Designed as an ANSI-standard press fit headed drill bushing for use in drill jig plates requiring a permanent, non-renewable bushing installation with a 0.196 inch bore.
Press fit bushings are installed by a machinist or toolmaker using an arbor press or hydraulic press — never drive with a hammer, as this can damage the bore or distort the bushing. The receiving hole in the jig plate must be machined to the correct interference fit tolerance per ANSI jig bushing standards before installation. Once pressed in, this bushing is considered permanent and is not designed for field removal or replacement. De-energize or lock out any associated machinery before performing jig maintenance or bushing installation.
