The BONEHAM H324IB is a Type H press fit headed drill bushing manufactured from steel for use in jig and fixture drilling operations. It features an inside diameter of 0.29 inches with a tight tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0005 inches, a body outside diameter of 0.5 inches, and a length under the head of 0.25 inches. The headed design provides a positive stop against the jig plate surface, ensuring consistent drill depth and accurate hole location across repeated operations. This bushing is permanently installed and is not a renewable style, making it suited for fixed, high-volume applications where the bushing will not be swapped out during production runs.
The H324IB is used in drill jigs, fixture plates, and tooling setups across metalworking, machining, and fabrication environments. It is installed directly into a prepared hole in a jig plate using a press fit method, requiring no additional locking hardware. Typical applications include production drilling operations where consistent hole location and drill guidance are required. The head outside diameter measures 39/64 inches and the head height measures 7/32 inches, providing a stable seating surface on the jig plate face.
Designed as a permanent press fit replacement or new-installation headed drill bushing for Type H industry-standard jig plate applications where a 0.5 inch body OD and 0.29 inch inside diameter are specified.
Installation is performed by toolmakers or machinists using an arbor press or hydraulic press to seat the bushing flush into a precisely reamed jig plate hole. The receiving hole in the jig plate must be reamed to the appropriate press fit tolerance to ensure the bushing seats without rotation or pullout. Do not drive the bushing with impact tools, as this can damage the bore or distort the head. Verify inside diameter clearance for the intended drill or reamer before installation.
