The BONEHAM H324GM is a Type H press fit headed drill bushing designed to guide drill bits and boring tools with precision in jig and fixture applications. Machined from steel, this bushing features a 0.213 inch inside diameter (wire size No. 3) and a 0.5 inch body outside diameter. The headed design provides a positive stop against the jig plate surface, and the press fit installation method ensures a secure, permanent seat without additional fasteners. Inside diameter tolerance is held to +0.0001 to +0.0004 inches, making it suitable for applications where repeatable hole location is critical. Machinists, toolmakers, and fixture builders are the primary installers of this component.
This bushing is used in drill jigs, tooling fixtures, and production setups where consistent hole placement across multiple workpieces is required. The Type H headed configuration is common in metalworking and manufacturing environments, both in job shop and production floor settings. With a 0.25 inch length under the head and a non-renewable design, it is intended as a permanent installation in the jig body. It is appropriate for use with standard twist drills, reamers, and similar cutting tools sized to the No. 3 wire gauge diameter.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit component for drill jigs and tooling fixtures requiring a Type H press fit headed bushing with a No. 3 wire gauge inside diameter and 0.5 inch body outside diameter.
Installation is performed by toolmakers or machinists using an arbor press or similar pressing equipment to drive the bushing flush into the prepared jig plate bore. The receiving hole in the jig plate must be machined to the appropriate press fit tolerance for the 0.5 inch outside diameter before installation. Do not hammer the bushing in directly without a proper press tool, as this can distort the inside diameter and compromise tool guidance accuracy. Once pressed in, this bushing is not intended for removal or replacement.
