The BONEHAM H3222IH is a Type H press fit headed drill bushing manufactured from hardened steel for use in jig and fixture drilling applications. It features a 0.302 inch inside diameter, a 1/2 inch body outside diameter, and a 1-3/8 inch length under head. The bushing presses directly into a jig plate without requiring a locking mechanism, making it a fixed, non-renewable installation. With a hardness rating of 60 to 65 HRC, the bore maintains tight tolerances and resists wear through repeated drilling cycles. Machinists, toolmakers, and fixture builders use this bushing to guide drill bits and reamers accurately and repeatably.
This bushing is suited for use in production drilling jigs, fixture plates, and tooling setups where a permanent, non-removable guide is acceptable. The headed design seats flush against the jig plate surface to control drill entry depth and prevent the bushing from being driven through the plate during operation. The counterbored configuration accommodates specific seating requirements in the fixture body. Typical installers include tool and die makers and precision machining professionals working in manufacturing and metal fabrication environments.
Designed as a permanent press fit replacement or new-installation drill bushing for jig plates and fixtures requiring a Type H headed bushing with a 0.302 inch bore and 1/2 inch body outside diameter per ANSI standards.
Installation is performed by a machinist or toolmaker using an arbor press or hydraulic press to seat the bushing into a prepared hole in the jig plate. The receiving hole must be machined to the correct interference fit tolerance before pressing to avoid bore distortion or bushing damage. Because this is a non-renewable bushing, removal typically damages the bushing or the plate — confirm fixture design before pressing. Always de-energize and lock out any associated equipment before servicing tooling or fixture components.
