The BONEHAM H3212HJ is a Type H press fit headed drill bushing designed to guide drill bits and cutting tools with precision during machining and metalworking operations. Manufactured from steel and hardened to 60 to 65 HRC, this bushing resists wear and maintains tight tolerances over repeated use. It features an inside diameter of 0.257 inches (Letter F) with a tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0005 inches, ensuring accurate hole location. The head design seats flush against the jig plate, providing a positive stop during installation. Machinists and toolmakers install this bushing in drill jigs and fixture plates to maintain repeatable hole placement across production runs.
This bushing fits standard drill jig applications requiring a permanent, non-renewable press fit installation. The 0.5 inch body outside diameter and 0.75 inch length under head suit common jig plate thicknesses in both job-shop and production environments. The 39/64 inch head outside diameter and 7/32 inch head height conform to ANSI standards, making this a drop-in fit for ANSI-compliant drill jig tooling. It is appropriate for use in ferrous and non-ferrous workholding setups where precise drill guidance is required.
Designed as an ANSI-standard press fit headed drill bushing for use in drill jigs and fixture plates requiring a 0.5 inch body outside diameter bushing with a Letter F (0.257 inch) inside diameter bore.
Press fit bushings are installed by machinists or toolmakers using an arbor press or hydraulic press — never drive with a hammer, as this can damage the bore or jig plate. The receiving hole in the jig plate must be reamed to the correct interference fit tolerance before pressing in the bushing. Once installed, the bushing is not intended to be removed or replaced. Verify that the jig plate thickness is compatible with the 0.75 inch length under head before assembly.
