The BONEHAM H2622HD is a Type H press fit headed drill bushing used to guide cutting tools with precision in jig and fixture applications. Machined from steel, it features an inside diameter of 0.246 inches with a tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0004 inches, ensuring accurate, repeatable hole location across production runs. The bushing installs without fasteners by pressing directly into a counterbored hole in a drill jig plate. With a body outside diameter of 13/32 inches and a length under the head of 1-3/8 inches, it suits medium-depth jig plates common in metalworking and fabrication shops. Machinists, tool and die makers, and manufacturing technicians are the primary installers.
This bushing is suited for use in drill jigs where a permanent, non-renewable bushing is required. The headed design seats flush against the jig plate surface via the counterbored seat, providing a positive stop that maintains consistent tool depth. It is a fixed installation intended for dedicated single-operation jigs in both low- and high-volume production environments. The press fit retention method makes it appropriate where bushing removal and replacement are not anticipated during the service life of the fixture.
Designed as a permanent OEM-style press fit drill bushing for use in steel or cast-iron jig plates with counterbored holes sized to accept a 13/32 inch body outside diameter.
Installation is performed by machinists or tool and die makers using an arbor press or hydraulic press to seat the bushing into a properly prepared counterbored hole. The jig plate should be secured and the bushing driven squarely to prevent cocking or galling of the bore. Because this is a permanent press fit bushing, removal will likely damage the part and possibly the jig plate — plan fixture design accordingly before pressing. Verify the counterbore depth matches the head height to achieve flush seating.
