The BONEHAM H2616HB is a Type H press fit headed drill bushing designed to guide cutting tools with precision in jig and fixture applications. It features an inside diameter of 0.242 inches (Letter size C) with a tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0004 inches, a body outside diameter of 13/32 inches, and a length under head of 1 inch. Constructed from steel, this bushing is pressed directly into a drill jig plate and held in place by its head. The counterbored design and fixed installation make it well suited for high-volume production environments where repeatable hole location is critical. Machinists and tool-and-die technicians are the primary installers of this component.
This bushing is used in drill jig fixtures across general manufacturing, metalworking, and precision machining operations. The headed design seats flush against the jig plate surface, providing a positive stop that controls depth and prevents the bushing from being pushed through during drilling. With a head outside diameter of 1/2 inch and a head height of 5/32 inches, it fits standard counterbored jig plate configurations. It is appropriate for both light-production and toolroom applications where a non-renewable, press-fit solution is acceptable.
Designed as an OEM-style fixed drill bushing for use in drill jig plates and fixtures that require a press fit, headed, non-renewable bushing of Type H configuration.
Installation is performed by machinists or toolmakers using an arbor press or hydraulic press to seat the bushing into a properly sized counterbored hole in the jig plate. The receiving hole must be machined to the appropriate interference fit tolerance before pressing to avoid bushing distortion or plate damage. Do not hammer the bushing in directly without a press fixture, as this can damage the head seating surface. Once pressed in, this bushing is not intended for removal or replacement.
