The BONEHAM H2612FT is a Type H press fit headed drill bushing designed to guide cutting tools with precision during drilling, reaming, and boring operations. It features a 3/16 inch (0.1875 inch) inside diameter with a tight tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0004 inches, a 13/32 inch body outside diameter, and a 3/4 inch length under the head. Constructed from steel hardened to 60-65 HRC, this bushing provides consistent hole location and resists wear under repeated tool passes. It is installed without a retaining screw or liner bushing, making it a straightforward fixed-position solution. Machinists and toolmakers install this component in drill jigs and fixtures in production and job-shop environments.
The H2612FT is suited for use in drill jig plates and fixture tooling wherever a permanent, non-renewable press fit bushing is required. Its headed configuration provides a shoulder that seats against the jig plate surface, preventing the bushing from being pushed through during drilling. The 1/2 inch head outside diameter and 5/32 inch head height provide positive seating in standard counterbored or flush-mount jig plate applications. This bushing meets ANSI standards and is appropriate for light to medium production drilling setups in metalworking and manufacturing environments.
Designed as an ANSI-standard Type H press fit headed drill bushing for use in drill jigs and machining fixtures requiring a permanent, non-renewable bushing with a 3/16 inch bore.
Press fit drill bushings are installed by toolmakers or machinist technicians using an arbor press or hydraulic press — never a hammer — to avoid distorting the bore or damaging the jig plate. The receiving hole in the jig plate must be machined to the appropriate interference fit tolerance per ANSI specifications before installation. Once pressed in, the H2612FT is not intended for removal or replacement. Confirm bore size and plate thickness before pressing to ensure proper seating depth.
