The BONEHAM H208FU is a Type H press fit headed drill bushing designed to guide cutting tools with precision in jig and fixture applications. It features a 0.189 inch inside diameter, a 5/16 inch body outside diameter, and a 1/2 inch length under the head. Constructed from hardened steel with a hardness rating of 60 to 65 HRC, this bushing resists wear and maintains tight tolerances through repeated drilling cycles. The inside diameter tolerance is held to +0.0001 to +0.0004 inches, making it suitable for high-accuracy hole location work. Machinists, toolmakers, and fixture builders install this type of bushing in production and prototype drilling setups.
This bushing is used in drill jigs and production fixtures requiring repeatable hole location across ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces. The headed style seats against the jig plate surface, providing a positive stop that prevents the bushing from being pushed into the plate under drilling load. The press fit installation method makes it a permanent, non-renewable bushing suited to single-operation or dedicated jig applications. It is commonly found in machine shops, fabrication facilities, and tooling departments handling medium to high production runs.
Designed as an OEM-style press fit headed drill bushing for use in drill jigs and fixtures requiring a permanent, non-renewable Type H bushing with a 0.189 inch inside diameter and 5/16 inch body outside diameter.
Installation is performed by machinists or toolmakers using a press or arbor press to drive the bushing into a prepared jig plate bore. The receiving bore should be sized and finished to the appropriate interference fit tolerance for press fit bushings per ANSI standards. Do not drive the bushing with a hammer directly on the head face, as this can damage the head seating surface or alter the inside diameter. Once pressed in, this bushing is not intended to be removed or replaced.
