The BONEHAM H208DY is a Type H press fit headed drill bushing designed to guide drill bits and other cutting tools with precision during machining and fabrication operations. Manufactured from steel with a hardness rating of 60 to 65 HRC, this bushing delivers the wear resistance required for repeated use in production and tooling fixture applications. The 0.1285 inch inside diameter is held to a tight tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0004 inches, ensuring accurate hole placement and consistent results. Installation is permanent — the bushing is pressed directly into a jig plate or fixture body without a locking liner. Machinists, toolmakers, and fixture builders are the typical installers.
This bushing is suited for use in drill jigs, fixture plates, and tooling setups in metalworking environments — both production shops and job shops. The headed design provides a positive stop against the jig plate surface, controlling the depth at which the bushing seats. The 5/16 inch body outside diameter fits standard jig plate bores sized for Type H press fit bushings, and the 1/2 inch length under head accommodates standard plate thicknesses common in drill fixture construction. It is a non-renewable bushing, meaning it is intended as a fixed, permanent installation rather than a replaceable liner style.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation press fit headed drill bushing for drill jigs and fixture plates bored to accept Type H bushings with a 5/16 inch body outside diameter.
Press fit bushings are installed by toolmakers or machinists using an arbor press or hydraulic press — never driven in with a hammer, which can damage the bore or distort the bushing. The receiving bore in the jig plate must be machined to the correct interference fit specification for Type H bushings per ANSI standards. Verify the bore diameter and surface finish before pressing. Once installed, this bushing is not intended for removal and replacement.
