The BONEHAM H205EV is a Type H press fit headed drill bushing machined from steel and hardened to 60 to 65 HRC. It is designed to guide drill bits, reamers, and similar cutting tools with precise alignment in jig and fixture applications. The bushing presses directly into a prepared hole in a drill jig plate without a locking mechanism, making it a permanent installation. The inside diameter is 0.157 inches (wire size 22) with a tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0004 inches, ensuring consistent tool guidance and repeatable hole location across production runs. Machinists, toolmakers, and fixture builders are the primary installers.
This bushing is suited for use in drill jigs and production fixtures found in metal fabrication shops, machine shops, and manufacturing environments. The headed design provides a positive stop against the jig plate surface, controlling the seating depth during press installation. The 5/16-inch body outside diameter and 5/16-inch length under the head make it appropriate for moderate plate thickness applications. The 27/64-inch head outside diameter and 1/8-inch head height seat flush or slightly proud of the plate face depending on counterbore conditions. This bushing does not replace a renewable liner bushing and is intended as a permanent fixture component.
Designed as a permanent press fit drill bushing for use in drill jig plates and machining fixtures requiring a Type H headed bushing with a 0.157-inch inside diameter and 5/16-inch body outside diameter per ANSI standards.
Installation is performed by toolmakers or machinists using an arbor press or hydraulic press to seat the bushing into a properly sized and toleranced hole in the jig plate. The mating hole in the plate must be bored or reamed to the correct press fit tolerance before installation. Once pressed in, this bushing is not intended to be removed or replaced. Verify hole location and plate thickness requirements against fixture design specifications before pressing the bushing into final position.
