The BONEHAM H2022DY is a Type H press fit headed drill bushing designed to guide twist drills and other cutting tools with precision during machining and fabrication operations. Manufactured from steel with a hardness of 60 to 65 HRC, this bushing provides wear-resistant tool guidance and is permanently pressed into a jig plate or fixture without requiring a locking mechanism. The inside diameter measures 0.1285 inches (Wire Size 30) with a tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0004 inches, making it suitable for close-tolerance drilling applications. The body outside diameter is 5/16 inches, with a length under head of 1-3/8 inches and a head outside diameter of 27/64 inches.
This bushing is used in drill jig fixtures across metalworking, tooling, and manufacturing environments. The Type H headed configuration seats flush against the jig plate surface, preventing the bushing from being pushed through during press-in installation. The counterbored design accommodates the head, allowing a flush or recessed seating arrangement depending on fixture requirements. It is installed by machinists, tool-and-die makers, and precision fabricators working with metal drilling jigs in production and prototype settings.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-build component for drill jig fixtures requiring a permanently pressed, headed bushing with a 5/16 inch body outside diameter and 0.1285 inch inside diameter.
Press fit bushings are installed by machinists or toolmakers using an arbor press to drive the bushing flush into the prepared jig plate bore. Power down all associated machinery before servicing or replacing bushings in an active fixture. The receiving bore in the jig plate must be machined to the appropriate interference fit tolerance to ensure secure retention. Do not use a hammer alone to install, as uneven force can damage the bushing bore or the fixture plate.
