The BONEHAM H2016EC is a Type H press fit headed drill bushing manufactured from steel and hardened to 60 to 65 HRC. It is designed to guide drill bits with precision during machining and fabrication operations, maintaining consistent bore location across repeated drilling cycles. The bushing presses directly into a prepared counterbored hole in a drill jig plate, where it seats flush and locks in place without additional fasteners. The inside diameter is 0.136 inches (No. 29 wire gauge equivalent) with a tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0004 inches, providing tight dimensional control. It is installed by machinists, toolmakers, and jig-and-fixture builders in production and maintenance machining environments.
This bushing is suited for use in drill jigs where a headed, non-renewable press fit style is appropriate for the application. The 1-inch length under the head provides adequate guidance depth for standard drilling operations. The head outside diameter is 27/64 inches and head height is 1/8 inch, seating into a counterbored jig plate. It conforms to ANSI standards for drill bushing geometry, making it a direct fit in tooling designed to those specifications. Typical applications include production drilling in metalworking shops, maintenance facilities, and custom fixture fabrication.
Designed as an ANSI-standard Type H headed press fit drill bushing for use in drill jigs and fixtures with counterbored holes sized to accept a 5/16-inch OD bushing body.
Press fit bushings are installed by machinists or toolmakers using an arbor press or drill press with appropriate tooling to drive the bushing squarely into the prepared counterbored hole. The jig plate bore should be machined to the specified interference fit tolerance before installation. Do not hammer the bushing in freehand, as this can damage the head or misalign the bore. Once pressed in, this bushing is not intended for removal or replacement.
