The BONEHAM H2016DY is a Type H press fit headed drill bushing manufactured from steel and hardened to 60 to 65 HRC for long service life in repetitive drilling applications. The bushing features a 0.1285 inch inside diameter (wire gauge size 30) with a tight inside diameter tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0004 inches, a body outside diameter of 5/16 inch, and a length under head of 1 inch. It is designed to guide drill bits with precision and consistency in jig and fixture setups. Machinists, toolmakers, and precision fabricators install these bushings in production drilling jigs where accurate hole location and drill guidance are essential.
Type H press fit headed drill bushings are used in drill jig plates and fixture bodies across metal fabrication shops, machine shops, and production manufacturing environments. The headed design seats against the jig plate surface, providing a positive stop and preventing the bushing from being pushed through the plate under drilling load. This bushing is suited for permanent installations where the bushing is not intended to be removed or replaced during normal production runs. Applications include repetitive hole drilling in metal workpieces where consistent hole placement is required across high part volumes.
Designed as a permanent OEM-style press fit drill bushing for use in standard drill jig plates and fixture bodies requiring a Type H headed bushing with a 5/16 inch body outside diameter and 1 inch length under head.
Press fit bushings are installed by machinists or toolmakers using an arbor press or hydraulic press — never drive with a hammer directly on the bushing head, as this can damage the head or misalign the bore. The receiving hole in the jig plate must be accurately sized to accept the press fit; confirm bore diameter and surface finish before installation. Once pressed in, Type H bushings are considered permanent and are not designed for routine removal. Ensure the jig plate counterbore matches the head outside diameter and head height specifications before pressing to seat.
