The BONEHAM H1012BB is a Type H press fit headed drill bushing used to guide cutting tools with precision in jig and fixture applications. It features an inside diameter of 0.043 inches, a body outside diameter of 5/32 inches, and a length under head of 3/4 inches. The bushing is manufactured from steel and installs permanently into a counterbored hole via press fit, with no liner or slip renewable design. The headed configuration provides a positive stop that seats flush against the jig plate surface, maintaining consistent tool alignment across repeated drilling operations. Machinists, toolmakers, and fixture builders install this type of bushing when a fixed, non-renewable guide is needed for production drilling.
This bushing is suited for light-duty drill jig plates used in production machining environments where the tool bore corresponds to a wire gauge #57 drill or equivalent. The 1/4-inch head outside diameter and 3/32-inch head height allow it to seat in counterbored jig plates without protruding excessively. It is appropriate for both manual drill press and CNC fixture applications where positional accuracy and repeatable tool entry are required. The non-renewable design makes it a low-cost, permanent solution for stable, high-cycle drilling setups.
Designed as an OEM-style press fit headed drill bushing for use in standard jig plates and fixtures machined to accept a Type H headed bushing with a 5/32-inch body outside diameter and counterbored seat.
Installation is performed by machinists or toolmakers using an arbor press or hydraulic press to seat the bushing into a precision-reamed counterbored hole in the jig plate. The jig plate bore must be machined to the correct interference fit tolerance before pressing in the bushing. Never drive the bushing with a hammer directly on the head, as this may damage the seating face or alter bore alignment. Once pressed in, this bushing is not intended for removal or replacement.
