The BONEHAM CB00001108 is a press fit headless drill bushing used to guide drill bits and other cutting tools to precise locations in jigs and fixtures. This bushing carries industry code P and features a 0.238 inch inside diameter with an inside diameter tolerance of +0.0001 to +0.0004 inches, a 0.5 inch outside diameter, and a 1 inch overall length. Manufactured from steel, it is designed for permanent installation in drill jig applications where tool-guidance accuracy and wear resistance are required. It is installed without a head, making it flush-mount suitable when a low-profile installation is needed. Machinists, toolmakers, and fixture builders are the primary installers of this component.
This bushing is suited for use in production and inspection jigs where consistent hole location is critical across repeated drilling operations. The press fit installation method means it is driven or pressed directly into a prepared hole in the jig plate, providing a rigid, non-rotating fit. It is appropriate for light to medium-duty drilling applications in both job shop and production environments. The headless design allows the bushing to sit flush with or below the surface of the jig plate, which is useful in applications where clearance above the plate surface is limited.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation drill bushing for standard press fit headless bushing applications in steel drill jigs and fixtures conforming to industry code P specifications.
Installation is performed by toolmakers or machinists using an arbor press or hydraulic press to drive the bushing into a precision-reamed hole in the jig plate. The receiving hole must be sized to the bushing outside diameter tolerance to achieve the correct press fit interference. Do not use a hammer directly on the bushing face, as this can damage the bore or distort the bushing. Verify inside diameter clearance for the intended drill or tool shank before pressing the bushing into place, as this bushing is non-renewable and not designed for removal and reinstallation.
