The BONEHAM AM00000629 is a press fit headless drill bushing with industry code PM, designed to guide drill bits with precision in metalworking and machining applications. Manufactured from steel and hardened to 60 to 65 HRC, this bushing delivers the wear resistance required for repetitive drilling operations. It features a 6.3 mm inside diameter, a 12.00 mm body outside diameter, and a 10.00 mm overall length. The inside diameter tolerance is held to +0.005/+0.014 mm, meeting ANSI standards for close-tolerance tooling. Installation is by press fit into a prepared jig plate, making it a fixed, non-renewable bushing intended for permanent or long-run fixture applications.
This bushing is suited for use in drill jigs and fixture plates in production machining environments, both in job shops and manufacturing facilities. It is applied where a headless, flush-mount profile is required and where the bushing will not be rotated or exchanged during a production run. Machinists, tool and die makers, and fixture builders are the primary installers. The PM industry code designates this as a press fit type per ANSI jig bushing standards, making it a direct drop-in for fixtures designed to that specification.
Designed as an ANSI-standard PM press fit headless drill bushing for use in drill jig plates and fixture tooling requiring a 6.3 mm bore guidance diameter and a 12.00 mm outside diameter press fit hole.
Installation is performed by tool and die makers or fixture technicians using a press or arbor press to seat the bushing flush into a properly reamed jig plate bore. The receiving hole must be finish-reamed to the correct interference fit tolerance before pressing to avoid cracking or misalignment. Ensure all machine power is locked out and the workpiece is fully secured before pressing or replacing any jig components. Do not drive the bushing with a hammer directly on the bore face.
