The BONEHAM AM00000267 is a headless drill bushing designed for press fit installation in drill jigs and fixture plates. It uses the HM industry code classification and features a 7.6 inch inside diameter with a 12.00 mm body outside diameter and an overall length of 16.00 mm. Constructed from steel, this bushing provides a hardened, wear-resistant guide surface for drill bits and other cutting tools in high-repetition drilling operations. It is a non-renewable bushing, meaning it is pressed permanently into the jig plate and is not designed for field replacement without re-pressing. Machinists, toolmakers, and fixture builders rely on this type of component to maintain accurate hole positioning across production runs.
This bushing is suited for use in drill jig assemblies in both production and job-shop environments. It is typically installed in tooling plates, fixture bodies, and jig components where a fixed, permanent drill guide is required. The press fit design locks the bushing into a precisely reamed hole in the jig plate, eliminating movement under cutting forces. Applications include repetitive drilling operations in metalworking, aerospace component fabrication, and general machining where hole location accuracy is critical.
Designed as an OEM-style press fit headless drill bushing conforming to HM industry code standards for use in standard drill jig and fixture plate applications.
Installation is performed by toolmakers or machinist trades using an arbor press or hydraulic press to drive the bushing into a precisely reamed hole in the jig plate. The receiving hole must be reamed to the correct tolerance for an interference fit before installation. Once pressed in, the bushing is not intended for removal without damaging the jig plate or the bushing itself. Follow applicable shop safety procedures and ensure the workpiece is securely fixtured before pressing.
