The BONEHAM AM00000162 is a press fit headless drill bushing manufactured to HM industry standards. It is designed to guide drill bits with precision in jig and fixture applications, ensuring accurate hole location and consistent repeatability across production runs. Made from steel, this bushing is installed without a locking head, seating flush within the jig plate for applications where a low-profile installation is required. The inside diameter measures 4.75 inches, with a body outside diameter of approximately 0.315 inches and an overall length of approximately 0.630 inches. Machinists, tool and die makers, and fixture builders commonly install this component during workholding setup.
This bushing is suited for use in drill jigs, fixtures, and production tooling where a permanent, non-renewable press fit installation is acceptable. The headless design makes it appropriate for jig plates where the bushing must sit flush or below the plate surface. It is commonly used in metalworking shops, manufacturing facilities, and maintenance environments that require repeatable hole guidance for drilling operations. The HM designation identifies the bushing type within the standard drill bushing classification system used across the tooling industry.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct fitment for drill jigs and fixtures requiring an HM-classification press fit headless bushing with a 4.75-inch inside diameter.
Press fit bushings are installed by machinists or toolmakers using an arbor press or similar pressing equipment — never drive in with a hammer, as uneven force can damage the bushing bore or distort the jig plate. Ensure the receiving hole in the jig plate is machined to the correct tolerance for a press fit before installation. De-energize and lock out any associated machine tool before inserting or removing bushings from active fixtures. Once pressed in, this bushing is not designed for removal and reuse.
