The BONEHAM AM00000105 is a press fit headless drill bushing in the HM industry code series, manufactured from steel for use in precision drilling and machining operations. This bushing provides a hardened guide surface for drill bits and other cutting tools, ensuring accurate hole location and reducing tool wander during production runs. It installs without a head flange, seating flush within the jig plate for applications where a low-profile or flush-mount configuration is required. With a 3.1-inch inside diameter, an outside body diameter of approximately 0.236 inches (6.00 mm), and an overall bushing length of approximately 0.630 inches (16.00 mm), it is sized for specific tooling jig requirements. Machinists, tool and die makers, and jig builders are the primary installers of this component.
This bushing is intended for use in drill jigs and fixture plates in industrial machining environments, both in production shops and tool rooms. The headless design makes it suitable for jig plates where the bushing must sit flush with the plate surface or be retained by a separate liner bushing. It is appropriate for repetitive-hole drilling operations where accurate positioning and tool guidance are critical. The HM industry code designation identifies it within a standardized system used across jig bushing applications in metalworking.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard fitment for drill jig plates and fixture assemblies requiring a press fit headless bushing in the HM industry code series.
Installation is performed by machinists or tool and die makers using an arbor press or hydraulic press to seat the bushing into a prepared, tolerance-matched bore in the jig plate. The receiving bore must be machined to the appropriate interference fit tolerance before pressing in the bushing. Power down all associated machinery before handling jig components. Do not hammer the bushing directly without a proper pressing sleeve, as this can damage the bushing bore or distort the outer diameter.
