The B K Mueller Industries 511-365HN is a galvanized reducing coupling designed to connect piping of two different diameters in a single fitting. It transitions from a 1.25-inch female-threaded end to a 1-inch female-threaded end, providing a secure, corrosion-resistant joint in threaded pipe systems. The hot-dip galvanized finish protects against rust and oxidation in wet or exposed environments. This coupling is sold in a package of 5 units, making it practical for service vehicles or jobsite stocking. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters install this fitting in water supply, gas, and general mechanical piping applications.
This reducing coupling is used in residential and light commercial piping systems wherever a threaded line steps down from 1.25 inches to 1 inch. Common install scenarios include branch take-offs, riser transitions, and repairs where dissimilar pipe sizes must be joined without additional adapters. It is suitable for above-ground and interior applications where galvanized steel is the specified or preferred material.
Designed as an OEM-style threaded reducing coupling compatible with standard NPT-threaded galvanized steel pipe systems in residential and commercial plumbing and mechanical applications.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or pipefitter in accordance with local plumbing codes and the International Plumbing Code (IPC). Shut off and depressurize the supply line before removing any existing fittings. Apply appropriate pipe thread sealant or PTFE tape to male threads before making up the joint. Do not over-tighten threaded connections, as this can crack or deform the fitting.
