The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 60511S-063F is an indexable spade drill designed for precision hole-making in a wide range of workpiece materials. Part of the GEN3SYS 11 series, it covers a drilling diameter range of 0.4331 to 0.4723 inches with a maximum drill depth of 2.359 inches. The straight flute geometry and through-coolant capability support chip evacuation and thermal management during drilling operations. The tool body is constructed from steel and features a flatted cylindrical shank with a diameter of 0.625 inches. It is installed and operated by machinists and tooling technicians on CNC machining centers and drill presses in production and job-shop environments.
The 60511S-063F is suited for general-purpose drilling applications across universal workpiece material categories, including cast iron, steel, non-ferrous metals, and non-metallic materials as indicated by material codes K, M, N, and P. The 5xD depth-to-diameter ratio makes it appropriate for moderate-depth hole applications in both production and maintenance machining contexts. The axial concentric coolant entry (Style Code 1) supports high-pressure through-spindle coolant delivery where machine tooling is equipped for it.
Designed as an OEM-style indexable spade drill replacement compatible with GEN3SYS 11 series tooling systems. Specific machine or holder compatibility should be verified against spindle interface and shank specifications prior to installation.
Installation should be performed by qualified tooling technicians following the machine tool manufacturer guidelines for shank retention and runout verification. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and the machine is in a safe locked-out state before inserting or removing the tool. Confirm coolant port alignment and thread compatibility at the 1/16 inch NPT coolant hole connection before engaging through-coolant supply. Verify insert seating and insert screw torque per the insert manufacturer specification before running the tool.
