The ALLIED MACHINE AND ENGINEERING 4C21P-0025 is a solid carbide spade drill insert designed for high-performance drilling in demanding industrial applications. Machined to a 25/32-inch diameter and fitted to a Seat Size 1 holder, this insert features a 132-degree point angle and is finished with an AM300 PVD coating. The AM300 coating improves wear resistance and extends tool life when cutting through abrasive or work-hardening materials. This insert is part of the GEN2 T-A series, a well-established platform used in production machining environments. Installation and changeover are performed by machining professionals and toolroom technicians.
This insert is engineered for drilling stainless steel, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and super-alloys including titanium — workpiece material codes M, K, N, and S. The GEN2 T-A platform is commonly used in CNC machining centers and drill presses across aerospace, automotive, oil and gas, and general metalworking shops where consistent hole quality and insert interchangeability are required. The 132-degree point angle suits flat-bottomed and through-hole applications in these material families.
Designed for use with GEN2 T-A series Seat Size 1 spade drill holders. Suitable for primary workpiece materials classified as stainless steel (M), cast iron (K), non-ferrous metal (N), and super-alloys and titanium (S).
Insert seating and torquing should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician following the holder manufacturer's procedure. Ensure the spindle is fully de-energized and locked out before changing any cutting insert. Verify the seat pocket is clean and free of chips or debris before seating the insert, as contamination can cause runout and premature insert failure. Always confirm insert orientation and engagement before resuming cutting operations.
