The ACCUPRO B140600R is a corner radius boring bar machined from submicron-grade solid carbide and designed for right-hand cutting applications. It handles a minimum bore diameter of 0.14 inches with a maximum bore depth of 0.6 inches, making it well-suited for small-diameter internal finishing and semi-finishing operations. The 3/16-inch shank diameter and 2-inch overall length provide a compact, rigid tooling profile that reduces deflection in tight-bore work. A bright finish coating is applied to the flute and shank surfaces. Corner radius range is 0.0050 to 0.0080 inches, allowing the machinist to achieve controlled edge preparation on bore walls. CNC machinists, tool-and-die shops, and precision machining operations are the primary users of this tool.
The B140600R is suited for small-bore internal turning and finishing passes on lathes and machining centers where precise corner geometry and tight tolerances are required. It is appropriate for use in production environments running ferrous and non-ferrous materials where submicron carbide grade provides the necessary hardness and wear resistance. Typical applications include bored holes in workholding fixtures, hydraulic valve bodies, and precision mechanical components requiring a controlled corner radius at the bore shoulder.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard tooling option for boring bar holders and cartridge systems that accept a 3/16-inch round shank. Confirm holder bore diameter and clamping method before installation.
Installation is typically performed by a machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing or setting tooling. Secure the shank in a compatible boring bar holder with adequate clamping force distributed evenly across the shank to prevent micro-movement during cutting. Verify tool runout with an indicator before production cuts, as even minor misalignment at small bore diameters will affect dimensional accuracy and corner radius geometry.
