The ACCUPRO ACC-BB160900G is a micrograin solid carbide boring bar designed for precision internal boring operations on CNC lathes and manual turning centers. With a minimum bore diameter of 0.16 inches and a maximum bore depth of 0.9 inches, this right-hand cut tool handles tight-tolerance small-bore work where rigidity and wear resistance are critical. The TiN (titanium nitride) finish coating extends cutting edge life and reduces built-up edge on ferrous materials. At 2 inches overall length with a 3/16-inch shank diameter, it fits standard boring bar holders used in production and toolroom environments.
This boring bar is suited for small-diameter internal turning and finish boring in job shop, production machining, and toolroom applications. It is used primarily on CNC turning centers and engine lathes where close-tolerance bores are required in steel, cast iron, and similar ferrous workpieces. The right-hand cutting direction is the standard orientation for conventional lathe setups. Machinists and CNC operators working with bore diameters near 0.16 inches will find this tool appropriate for both roughing and finishing passes within its depth capacity.
Designed for use in standard boring bar holders accepting a 3/16-inch shank diameter on CNC turning centers and manual engine lathes performing small-diameter internal boring operations.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine powered off and in a locked-out, tagged-out state per applicable OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Ensure the shank is clamped securely in the boring bar holder to the full recommended engagement depth to minimize overhang and chatter. Do not exceed the maximum bore depth of 0.9 inches, as over-extension increases deflection risk and can damage the tool or workpiece. Verify tool height alignment to centerline before beginning a cut.
