The ACCUPRO 311417 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in demanding shop environments. With a 1/4 inch mill diameter and a 0.060 inch corner radius, this single-end tool produces contoured features and blended transitions in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The AlCrTiN coating delivers high-temperature hardness and oxidation resistance, extending tool life in dry or high-speed cutting conditions. Five flutes and a 38-degree variable-index helix geometry improve chip evacuation and reduce chatter, making this end mill well-suited for finishing passes and semi-finishing work in tight-tolerance applications. Installed by machinists and toolroom operators working with CNC machining centers and manual knee mills.
This end mill is intended for milling operations requiring a corner radius profile to reduce stress concentrations at slot or pocket floors. The 3/8 inch length of cut and 2 inch overall length make it practical for shallow-to-medium depth passes in pockets, shoulders, and contoured surfaces. Its centercutting design allows plunge entry without a pre-drilled start hole. The right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting orientation match standard CNC spindle rotation. Micrograin solid carbide construction supports use in hardened steels, stainless alloys, titanium, and cast iron where high-speed steel tooling loses edge retention.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard tooling option for CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 1/4 inch straight shank end mill in an ER collet, end mill holder, or equivalent toolholder.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom personnel. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the end mill from the toolholder. Seat the shank fully into the collet or holder and torque the retention nut to the toolholder specification. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before beginning the cut, as excessive runout will accelerate edge wear on a 5-flute geometry.
