The ACCUPRO 12185251 is a double-end square end mill designed for precision milling operations in metal fabrication and machining applications. Built from micrograin solid carbide, it delivers the rigidity and edge retention required for high-speed material removal in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The 4-flute, right-hand spiral configuration with a 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. At 0.500 inches in diameter with a 0.625-inch length of cut and a 3.000-inch overall length, this stub-length tool offers excellent rigidity in tight setups. The bright, uncoated finish makes it well suited for non-ferrous materials and applications where coating is not required. Installed by machinists and CNC operators working in job shops, toolrooms, and production environments.
This end mill is intended for use in vertical machining centers, CNC mills, and manual knee mills where a 1/2-inch shank collet or end mill holder is available. The double-end design extends service life by providing two usable cutting ends before the tool is retired. The stub-length format reduces overhang and increases rigidity, making it a practical choice for face milling, slotting, and peripheral milling passes where deflection is a concern. The centercutting geometry allows plunge entry, expanding its application range without requiring a pre-drilled pilot hole.
Designed as a standard 1/2-inch shank square end mill compatible with any CNC or manual milling machine equipped with a 1/2-inch collet, end mill holder, or equivalent toolholding system.
Installation requires a properly sized end mill holder or collet rated for a 1/2-inch shank. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and the machine is in a safe, locked-out state before changing tooling. Confirm runout at the collet before operation, as excessive runout accelerates wear on carbide tooling. Follow shop safety protocols and applicable ANSI machining standards when setting speeds and feeds for the workpiece material.
