The ACCUPRO 12179557 is a single-end, square-profile solid carbide end mill designed for precision milling operations on a CNC machining center or manual mill. It carries a 1 inch cutting diameter, a 1-3/4 inch length of cut (LOC), and a 1 inch shank diameter, with an overall length (OAL) of 4 inches. The five-flute geometry increases chip load capacity and improves surface finish compared to standard four-flute tooling. An AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride) coating provides elevated heat resistance and wear life, making this tool well suited for dry or semi-dry cutting conditions. Machinists and toolroom operators who run hardened steels, stainless, cast iron, or high-temp alloys at moderate-to-aggressive parameters will find this cutter a reliable workhorse.
This end mill is intended for general-purpose and production milling in job shop and manufacturing environments. Its regular-length profile and coarse pitch make it a practical choice for peripheral milling, slotting, and profiling passes in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The centercutting design allows plunge entry, giving the operator flexibility when no pre-drilled entry point exists. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute orientation are standard for conventional CNC spindle rotation. The 30-degree helix angle balances chip evacuation with tool rigidity across a broad range of workpiece materials.

Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the control is in feed-hold or emergency stop before changing tooling. Follow the tool manufacturer and machine builder guidelines for speeds, feeds, and depth-of-cut parameters appropriate to the workpiece material.
