The ACCUPRO 12178680 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding machining environments. Built from micrograin solid carbide and coated with AlTiN (aluminum titanium nitride), it handles elevated cutting temperatures in hard steels, stainless alloys, and heat-resistant materials. The 0.03 inch corner radius reduces stress concentration at the cutting edge, extending tool life in finish and semi-finish passes. With 5 flutes and a right-hand spiral flute geometry, this single-end mill delivers efficient chip evacuation and a fine surface finish. Variable index spacing helps suppress chatter during aggressive cuts. Centercutting capability allows direct plunge entry without a pilot hole.
This end mill fits standard CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with a 1 inch tool holder. It is suited for peripheral milling, slotting, and profiling operations in ferrous and non-ferrous metals. The 1-3/4 inch length of cut supports moderate-depth passes, while the 4 inch overall length accommodates setups where slight extended reach is needed without sacrificing rigidity. Typical users include CNC machinists and toolroom operators in job shops, aerospace component manufacturing, and precision production environments.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and milling machines with a 1 inch straight shank tool holder. Suitable for milling operations in ferrous metals, stainless steel, and similar hard materials where AlTiN coating performance is required.
Installation should be performed by a qualified CNC machinist or toolroom technician. Ensure the spindle is fully powered down and the tool holder is clean and free of debris before seating the shank. Verify shank runout after clamping to confirm proper concentricity before initiating a cut. Follow the tool manufacturer and machine builder guidelines for appropriate feed rates, speeds, and depth of cut for the material being machined.
