The ACCUPRO 12177674 is a solid carbide tapered ball end mill designed for precision milling operations requiring tight tolerances and fine surface finishes. Built from micrograin solid carbide, this tool delivers consistent cutting performance in hardened steels, alloys, and other demanding workpiece materials. The ball end geometry produces a 1/32-inch nose radius, making it well suited for 3D contouring, die and mold work, and fine detail passes. With a 3.5-degree taper per side and a small end diameter of 1/16 inch, it reaches into narrow cavities while maintaining rigidity. Three right-hand spiral flutes with a 30-degree helix angle promote chip evacuation and reduce cutting forces during finish passes.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills where controlled depth profiling and tapered wall geometry are required. It is commonly applied in die and mold finishing, engraving, and contour milling of small features. The 1-inch length of cut and 2-1/2-inch overall length make it practical for moderate-depth cavities without excessive deflection. The uncoated finish is appropriate for a range of base materials and allows resharpening without coating process constraints. Designed as a standard shank tapered ball end mill fitting any spindle or collet chuck that accepts a 1/4-inch shank diameter. Compatible with CNC machining centers and manual mills configured for right-hand cutting tools.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following standard tool-holding procedures. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and powered down before inserting or removing the tool. Secure the 1/4-inch shank in a properly sized collet or end mill holder to the manufacturer-specified engagement depth, and verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning the cut. Do not exceed the rated length of cut when programming axial depth to avoid deflection or tool breakage.
