The ACCUPRO 12177599 is a tapered ball end mill designed for precision milling of complex contours, angled walls, and deep-cavity features in machined components. Built from micrograin solid carbide, this 3-flute tool delivers rigidity and edge retention in demanding cutting conditions. The ball end geometry produces a 3/64-inch nose radius suited for smooth surface finishes on 3D profiling passes. With a 2-degree taper per side, a 3/32-inch small-end diameter, and a 1-1/4-inch length of cut, it is used in CNC machining centers for die, mold, and aerospace part work where tapered wall geometry is required.
This end mill is appropriate for finish and semi-finish passes in harder workpiece materials where micrograin carbide provides adequate wear resistance without a coating. The 30-degree helix angle promotes chip evacuation along the flute length. The right-hand spiral, right-hand cut configuration is standard for conventional CNC vertical and horizontal machining setups. The 3/16-inch straight shank fits standard collet chucks and shrink-fit holders sized for that diameter. Machinists working in tool and die, mold making, and precision prototype shops will find this geometry useful for core and cavity work.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide tapered ball end mill for use in CNC machining centers with 3/16-inch collet chucks, shrink-fit holders, or equivalent toolholding systems accepting a straight shank of that diameter.
Installation and setup should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC operator. Ensure the machine spindle is fully powered down and the tool change is performed according to the machine manufacturer's lockout/tagout procedure before seating or removing this tool. Verify runout in the toolholder before initiating a cutting program, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on carbide end mills. Do not exceed the manufacturer's recommended speed and feed parameters for the workpiece material and depth of cut.
