The ACCUPRO 12177519 is a solid carbide tapered end mill designed for precision milling operations where controlled taper geometry and a clean square end profile are required. Built from micrograin carbide, it delivers consistent cutting performance in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The uncoated finish suits applications where coating compatibility is a concern or where regrinding is planned. With a 5-degree taper angle per side, a 3/32 inch small end diameter, and a 3-flute spiral configuration with a 30-degree helix angle, this tool is suited for slotting, contouring, and cavity work in tight setups. Installed by machinists and CNC operators working in tool and die, mold making, and precision part manufacturing.
This tapered end mill is used in vertical and horizontal milling machines as well as CNC machining centers. The 1/4 inch shank diameter makes it compatible with standard ER and straight-bore collet systems. The 3/4 inch length of cut and 2-1/2 inch overall length allow reach into moderate-depth pockets and angled wall features. Right-hand flute direction and centercutting capability support both plunge entry and conventional peripheral milling passes. Typical applications include draft-angle wall finishing, dovetail lead-ins, and taper blending on mold cavities and die components.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for standard 1/4 inch shank tapered end mill applications in CNC machining centers and manual vertical mills using ER collet or straight-bore toolholding systems.
Installation requires a collet or toolholder rated for a 1/4 inch shank diameter; ensure the collet bore is clean and free of debris before seating the tool. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before cutting, as micrograin carbide tools are sensitive to excessive runout. Always power down and lock out the spindle drive before changing tooling. Follow shop-specific feeds, speeds, and depth-of-cut guidelines appropriate for the workpiece material and machine rigidity.
