The ACCUPRO 12177495 is a solid carbide tapered end mill designed for precision milling operations requiring controlled taper geometry. Built from micrograin carbide, it delivers superior wear resistance and edge retention compared to standard carbide grades. The tool features a 2-degree taper per side, a 1/2-inch small end diameter, and a 3-flute spiral configuration with a 30-degree helix angle. At 6 inches overall length with a 3-1/4-inch length of cut, this end mill handles deep-reach tapered profiling, draft-angle milling, and rib-cutting applications. It is centercutting, allowing plunge entry, and ships uncoated for use in non-ferrous metals, plastics, graphite, and dry machining setups where coatings are not required.
This end mill is suited for CNC machining centers and manual mills in job shops, tool-and-die operations, and production machining environments. The 3/4-inch shank diameter provides rigid coupling to standard ER or side-lock toolholders. Typical applications include tapered wall profiling, mold and die cavities, aerospace structural components, and any workpiece where a precise draft angle must be maintained over a long flute reach. Right-hand flute direction pairs with standard right-hand spindle rotation.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide tapered end mill compatible with standard 3/4-inch shank toolholders including ER collet chucks and side-lock holders on CNC machining centers and manual vertical mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before loading or removing the tool. Seat the 3/4-inch shank to the full recommended insertion depth in the toolholder and torque the collet nut or set screw per the toolholder manufacturer specifications. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or wear before each use, as carbide end mills are brittle and should not be dropped or clamped on the fluted section.
