The ACCUPRO 12177465 is a solid carbide tapered end mill engineered for precision machining operations that require controlled taper geometry. With a 1-degree taper angle per side and a 3/8-inch small end diameter, this tool generates accurate draft angles and contoured surfaces in mold, die, and general metalworking applications. The 3-flute spiral design with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation while maintaining a smooth cutting action. The square end configuration supports flat-bottom profiling and slotting. Micrograin carbide construction provides hardness and wear resistance suited to demanding cutting environments. Licensed machinists and CNC operators install and run this tool on vertical and horizontal machining centers.
This tapered end mill is suited for mold-making, die work, and contour profiling where precise taper angles are required along the length of cut. The 2-1/4-inch length of cut and 5-inch overall length give adequate reach for deeper cavity work without sacrificing rigidity. The 1/2-inch shank diameter fits standard ER and end-mill holder tooling common on most CNC platforms. The uncoated micrograin carbide substrate works well in non-ferrous metals, graphite, and certain ferrous materials where base carbide performance meets the application requirement. Centercutting capability allows direct plunge entry where needed.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement for standard 1/2-inch shank end-mill holders and ER collet systems used on vertical and horizontal CNC machining centers.
Installation and tool changes must be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine power isolated per shop lockout/tagout procedures. Ensure the 1/2-inch shank is fully seated and properly torqued in the holder per the toolholder manufacturer specifications before running. Verify runout at the tool tip with a dial indicator before beginning cuts. Inspect the cutting edges for chips or damage before each use.
