The ACCUPRO 12177348 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining applications. It features a 2 mm mill diameter with a 0.2 mm corner radius and a 2 mm length of cut. The single-end, centercutting design allows for plunge cutting as well as peripheral and slot milling. An AlTiN coating provides elevated heat resistance and extended tool life in hard and abrasive materials. The 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. This end mill is suited for use by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working on precision components.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC machining centers and manual milling machines requiring tight-tolerance finishing and profiling on small features. The 2-flute configuration makes it well suited for slotting and pocketing in harder materials where chip clearance is critical. The extended reach design, with a 15 mm reach length and 6 mm shank diameter, allows access to deeper cavities without sacrificing rigidity. Typical applications include die and mold work, aerospace component finishing, and precision part profiling where corner geometry must be held to close tolerances.
Designed as a standard-shank corner radius end mill with a 6 mm shank diameter, compatible with collet systems and tool holders sized for 6 mm shanks on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine power locked out before tool changes. Seat the 6 mm shank fully into the collet or tool holder and torque the retention mechanism per the tool holder specification. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before cutting, as this tool operates at small diameters where even minor runout significantly affects finish and tool life. Follow applicable shop safety standards and machine manufacturer guidelines for high-speed cutting with carbide tooling.
