The ACCUPRO 12177152 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, alloys, and engineering plastics. It features a 3/4 inch cutting diameter, a 1-1/2 inch length of cut, and a 6 inch overall length that suits long-reach applications. The micrograin carbide construction delivers hardness and edge retention beyond standard grades. A 40-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and reduces cutting forces at the tool edge. This is a single-end, uncoated tool intended for machinists and toolroom operators running CNC or manual milling equipment where dimensional accuracy is critical.
This end mill fits long-reach and extended-reach milling operations, particularly where standard-length tools cannot access deep pockets, slots, or stepped features. The 4-1/2 inch reach length makes it well suited for cavity work in mold and die applications, fixture fabrication, and general production machining. The centercutting geometry allows direct plunge entry as well as conventional peripheral milling. Right-hand cut and right-hand flute configuration is standard for conventional milling setups.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or standard tooling selection for 3/4 inch collet chucks, end mill holders, and hydraulic chucks used on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills. Shank diameter tolerance of -0.0001 to -0.0004 inches ensures consistent seating in standard toolholders.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine in a locked-out, de-energized state before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the holder and torque the retention hardware to the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut. Extended-reach end mills are more susceptible to deflection — reduce axial depth of cut or feed rate as needed when rigidity is limited.
