The ACCUPRO 10385 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit sized to letter F (0.2570 inches decimal equivalent) with a 150-degree drill point angle. Designed for right-hand cutting, it features a 3-flute spiral configuration with a regular spiral type and a straight cylindrical shank. The bright, uncoated finish suits applications where coating is not required or where minimal surface buildup is a priority. Machinists, tool-and-die professionals, and maintenance mechanics typically select this bit for drilling ferrous and non-ferrous materials where carbide hardness and rigidity provide an advantage over high-speed steel alternatives.
This drill bit is suited for production drilling, maintenance operations, and precision hole-making tasks where a letter-F diameter is specified. The 3-flute geometry improves chip evacuation relative to a 2-flute design, making it appropriate for materials that produce short, manageable chips. The 5xD flute-by-diameter ratio provides adequate flute length for typical jobber-depth holes. It does not feature coolant-through capability, so external coolant or cutting fluid application is recommended when drilling materials that generate significant heat. ANSI specification compliance supports consistent dimensional tolerancing across tooling setups.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit tooling option for any application requiring a letter-F diameter jobber-length drill bit with a straight cylindrical shank and ANSI-compliant dimensions.
Install and remove this bit with the spindle fully stopped and the machine powered down or locked out per applicable machine-tool safety procedures. Secure the straight cylindrical shank firmly in a drill chuck or collet to the depth recommended by the toolholder manufacturer to prevent runout. External cutting fluid or coolant is recommended during use since this bit does not feature coolant-through capability. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping or wear before each use, as solid carbide is brittle and susceptible to edge damage from improper handling or interrupted cuts.
