The ACCUPRO 1-MG is a right-hand, AR-style single point tool bit designed for square shoulder turning operations on manual and CNC lathes. It features a micrograin solid carbide tip brazed to a steel shank, delivering consistent edge retention and surface finish on ferrous and non-ferrous workpieces. The shank measures 0.25 inches wide by 0.25 inches high with a 2-inch overall length. A 1/64-inch nose radius balances finish quality with tool life across typical turning, boring, and chamfering cuts. Machinists and toolroom technicians use this bit in toolholders sized for quarter-inch shank tooling.
This tool bit is suited for light to medium turning, boring, and chamfering operations on lathes in job shop, production, and maintenance machining environments. The AR style profile seats in standard AR-series toolholders. Its compact shank size makes it a common choice for bench lathes, turret lathes, and smaller CNC turning centers where quarter-inch tooling is specified. It is sold individually and is appropriate wherever a repeatable, shop-standard AR-4 tool bit is required.
Designed to seat in AR-series toolholders accepting a 0.25 inch square shank. Industry standard number AR-4. Verify toolholder pocket dimensions before installation.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or toolroom technicians. Ensure the lathe spindle is fully stopped and locked out before seating or adjusting the tool bit in the holder. Tighten toolholder set screws to the toolholder manufacturer specification using the appropriate hex key. Inspect the carbide tip for chips or cracks before each use and replace if edge integrity is compromised.
