It accepts GS-style inserts in size code 3 and supports a minimum groove width of 0.1183 inches (3.00 mm) and a maximum depth of cut of 1.9700 inches (50.00 mm). The blade measures 5.9100 inches in overall length with a cutting height of 1.2598 inches and a blade width of 0.0945 inches. This tool is intended for use by machinists and toolroom technicians performing grooving, parting, and profiling operations in production or job-shop turning environments.
This blade holder is suited for external grooving operations on small-diameter workpieces in both production and prototype turning applications. The neutral cutting direction makes it compatible with standard right-hand turning setups without requiring special clearance geometry. It is typically used on CNC lathes with appropriate insert clamping systems. The CI series designation identifies the system family for matching insert and block compatibility.
