The ACCUPRO 02703049 is a solid carbide back chamfer tool designed for creating chamfered edges on the reverse side of drilled or bored holes. Built from solid carbide, this single-end tool delivers consistent cutting performance on ferrous and non-ferrous materials. It features a 90-degree chamfer angle, a 0.36-inch cutting diameter, a 0.055-inch chamfer depth, and a bright finish that allows easy wear inspection during use. The 3/8-inch shank diameter provides rigid tool holding in standard collet chucks and end mill holders. Machinists and tooling professionals rely on this style of back chamfer tool for deburring and edge-breaking operations that standard chamfer mills cannot reach.
This back chamfer tool is suited for CNC machining centers and manual mills where back-side edge preparation is required. Typical applications include aerospace, automotive, and general metalworking operations where cross-drilled holes, intersecting bores, or countersunk features need a clean, consistent chamfer on the underside. The 1/32-inch flat width and 1/4-inch neck diameter allow the tool to pass through tight bore clearances before engaging the back edge. The 2-1/2-inch overall length provides reach for moderate-depth applications.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and general-use back chamfer tool compatible with CNC machining centers and manual mills equipped with standard 3/8-inch collet chucks or end mill holders.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with rotary cutting tool safety. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before inserting or removing the tool from the holder. Confirm the shank is fully seated and the collet or set screw is properly torqued per the tool holder manufacturer specifications before running. Back chamfer tools require a pre-drilled or bored through-hole large enough to pass the neck diameter before engaging the cutting edge.
