The SUPCO t45 is a multi-tap control transformer designed for use in HVAC control circuits where voltage conversion between primary and secondary is required. It accepts a primary voltage of 120, 208, or 240 volts and provides multiple secondary voltage taps at 2.5, 8, 12, 16, and 24 volts, making it adaptable to a range of low-voltage control applications. Licensed HVAC technicians install this type of transformer to power thermostats, contactors, and other control components within heating and cooling systems.
This transformer is suited for residential and light commercial HVAC installations where a single unit must serve multiple voltage configurations. The multi-tap secondary is particularly useful in retrofit situations where the existing control circuit voltage may vary from system to system, reducing the need to stock multiple single-voltage transformers. It fits within standard control panel enclosures used in gas furnaces, air handlers, and packaged rooftop units.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement for multi-tap control transformers used in residential and light commercial HVAC control circuits.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician. Disconnect and lock out all power to the unit before removing or installing the transformer. Verify primary voltage at the panel before selecting the appropriate primary tap to avoid damage to connected control components. Follow applicable NEC requirements for low-voltage control wiring in the system enclosure.
