The SUPCO SA2 is a clamp-on line tap valve designed to give HVAC technicians fast access to system refrigerant without evacuating the refrigerant circuit. Part of the Signature Series, this adjustable valve mounts permanently on suction or liquid line tubing in 1/2 inch or 5/8 inch outside diameters. It features a retracting needle that maximizes flow once the valve is opened and a patented depressor valve action for reliable, repeatable operation. Maximum operating pressure is 800 psi, making it compatible with the full range of modern refrigerants in residential and light commercial systems. A hex wrench and adapter sleeves are included.
The SA2 is used in residential and light commercial HVAC service when a technician needs to add a service port to an existing refrigerant line without a full system recovery and evacuation. It is appropriate for suction lines, liquid lines, and process tubes where access points are absent or inaccessible. The valve mounts in any orientation, giving technicians flexibility in tight mechanical spaces such as condensing unit cabinets, air handler compartments, and rooftop unit line sets. Compatible with all refrigerants, it supports a broad range of service calls on older and newer equipment alike.
Designed for permanent installation on 1/2 inch and 5/8 inch OD refrigerant tubing and compatible with all refrigerants used in residential and light commercial HVAC systems.
Installation is performed by a licensed HVAC technician following applicable refrigerant handling regulations under EPA Section 608. Although the SA2 does not require system evacuation for installation, technicians should confirm system pressure and follow all safety precautions for working with pressurized refrigerant circuits. After clamping the valve onto the tubing, verify the piercing needle is fully retracted before reopening the valve to service equipment. This valve is intended for permanent installation and should not be removed once the needle has pierced the tubing wall.
