The SUPCO IC100 is a solid state start relay designed for single-phase compressor applications operating at 120 volts AC. It replaces most two-terminal PTC (positive temperature coefficient) relays and provides a reliable, solid-state starting solution for fractional horsepower compressors ranging from 1/20 HP to 1/2 HP. The IC100 functions with or without a run capacitor, making it adaptable across a wide range of refrigeration equipment. Designed and engineered by SUPCO, this relay is a direct drop-in replacement for numerous OEM PTC relays used throughout the light commercial and residential refrigeration industry.
The IC100 is suited for residential and light commercial refrigeration systems where a compressor start relay has failed or requires replacement. Typical applications include reach-in refrigerators, freezers, and small refrigeration units equipped with single-phase hermetic compressors. The relay is compatible with systems that use run capacitors as well as those that do not, broadening its install range for service technicians working across multiple equipment types.
Designed as a direct replacement for numerous OEM two-terminal PTC start relays on single-phase hermetic compressors rated from 1/20 HP to 1/2 HP at 120 volts AC. Compatible with OL series overloads when used alongside IC series, PO series, and UR115 components.
Installation should be performed by a qualified HVAC-R technician or refrigeration service professional. Disconnect and lock out power to the appliance or unit before removing the existing relay. The IC100 mounts directly to the compressor start terminal pins; ensure the relay is fully seated before restoring power. Do not energize the relay outside of its rated HP range, and verify system voltage matches the 120 volt AC rating prior to installation.
