Msa Safety vtohw-011-db-a Self Retracting Lanyard 6 Ft

Product Description

The MSA SAFETY vtohw-011-db-a is a single-leg self retracting lanyard (SRL) from the V-TEC Personal Fall Limiter series, designed for overhead anchorage applications in fall protection systems. The lifeline is constructed from high-modulus polyethylene (HMPE) and measures 6 feet in length with a 5/8-inch diameter. It supports a weight capacity of 400 lb and requires a minimum user weight of 130 lb. The anchorage end connects via a steel snap hook, while the harness end uses an aluminum triple-action carabiner. This unit is RFID-equipped for asset tracking and inspection management. Licensed HVAC, construction, and general industry trades install this SRL where overhead tie-off points are available.

The vtohw-011-db-a is suited for general industry and construction environments where overhead-only anchorage is available. It carries ANSI Z359.14-21 Class 1 SRL classification and meets OSHA 29 CFR Part 1910.140 and 1926.502 requirements. The polycarbonate housing provides durability in field conditions. A visual load indicator gives inspectors and workers a quick-check confirmation of whether the unit has been shock-loaded, supporting pre-use inspection procedures. The gray color coding and RFID tag support inventory and compliance documentation programs on larger job sites.

Compatibility

Designed as an overhead-anchorage SRL within the MSA V-TEC Personal Fall Limiter series. Compatible with full-body harnesses that accept a standard carabiner connection at the dorsal D-ring. Anchorage must be rated for overhead tie-off per ANSI Z359.14-21 requirements.

Installation Notes

Installation and inspection must be performed by a competent person as defined under OSHA 29 CFR Part 1926.32 and applicable ANSI Z359 standards. The unit is rated for overhead anchorage only — do not use with side or foot-level anchorage points. Before connecting, verify the anchorage point meets the minimum strength requirements specified by ANSI Z359.14-21. Inspect the visual load indicator and lifeline condition before each use; remove the unit from service immediately if the load indicator has been activated.
