The EWC CONTROLS EURD-7 is a 7-inch single-blade round motorized damper designed for zone control and air quality applications in ducted HVAC systems. The damper uses a 24-volt, two-position motor that is powered in both directions — powered open and powered closed — eliminating reliance on spring return. A 3-wire hookup (common, power-open leg, power-closed leg) connects the motor to a zone controller or control board. Built-in LED indicators display damper position: red for fully closed, green for fully open. These LEDs are failsafe-triggered, meaning they illuminate only when the blade has reached its full open or full closed position.
This motorized damper is suited for residential and light commercial forced-air HVAC zoning systems where positive blade positioning is required. It installs inline in round ductwork to control airflow to individual zones. The powered-both-ways motor design makes it appropriate for systems that require active shutoff as well as active opening, such as multi-zone VAV or zone-control setups managing indoor air quality or balanced airflow distribution.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or new-installation motorized damper for 7-inch round duct zoning systems controlled by 24-volt zone control boards.
Installation is typically performed by a licensed HVAC technician familiar with low-voltage zoning controls. Shut down the air handler or furnace and de-energize the control transformer before making any wiring connections. The 3-wire low-voltage connection must be routed to a compatible zone controller that supplies separate power-open and power-closed outputs. Refer to local mechanical codes and the zone controller manufacturer wiring diagram to confirm terminal assignments before energizing the system.
