The EWC CONTROLS EURD-5-MA15S is a single-blade, round motorized damper designed for zone control and air quality applications in ducted HVAC systems. The unit ships with a 24-volt, two-position motor actuator that is powered in both directions — powered open and powered closed — eliminating reliance on spring return. The motor uses a 3-wire hookup consisting of a common, a power-open leg, and a power-closed leg. Built-in LED position indicators display red when the blade is fully closed and green when the blade is fully open, confirming full-travel completion before illuminating. Licensed HVAC technicians and sheet metal mechanics are the primary installers of this type of damper in residential and light-commercial zoning systems.
The EURD-5-MA15S fits 5-inch round ductwork and is suited for air quality and zone control installations where a reliable, bidirectional actuated damper is required. The powered-open, powered-closed operation makes it appropriate for zoning applications where fail-safe spring return is not preferred. It is commonly installed in forced-air systems alongside zone control boards that switch 24-volt signals to open and close individual zones on demand.
Designed as an OEM-style motorized damper replacement or new-installation component for 5-inch round ductwork in residential and light-commercial forced-air zoning and air quality systems.
Installation is performed by a licensed HVAC technician or qualified sheet metal mechanic. De-energize the zone control board and disconnect 24-volt power to the damper circuit before wiring or replacing the actuator. Connect the 3-wire harness to the zone board per the board manufacturer's wiring diagram, observing the common, power-open, and power-closed terminals. Verify full blade travel and confirm LED indicator response before returning the system to service.
