The EWC CONTROLS ENCM-3Z is a non-expandable zone control panel designed for residential and light-commercial HVAC zoning applications. It manages up to three zones and operates at 24 volts, coordinating heating and cooling calls from multiple thermostats to a single-stage or heat pump system. The panel features a large LCD display, LED indicator lights, built-in timers, and auto changeover functionality. Licensed HVAC technicians install this panel as part of a zoned forced-air system to improve comfort control and reduce energy waste across independently conditioned areas.
The ENCM-3Z is suited for systems running single-stage configurations, 2 heat / 1 cool single-stage setups, and 2 heat / 1 cool heat pump configurations. It is compatible with standard heat/cool single-stage thermostats, 2 heat / 1 cool heat pump thermostats, and smart Wi-Fi thermostats. The panel operates across a wide temperature range of -4 degrees F to 158 degrees F and handles operating humidity from 0% to 95% non-condensing, making it reliable across varied installation environments including unconditioned mechanical spaces.
Compatible with single-stage systems, 2 heat / 1 cool systems, 2 heat / 1 cool heat pump systems, heat/cool single-stage thermostats, 2 heat / 1 cool heat pump thermostats, and smart Wi-Fi thermostats.
Installation should be performed by a licensed HVAC technician familiar with low-voltage zoning controls and local mechanical codes. Disconnect power to the air handler or furnace control board before wiring the zone panel. Use 18-gauge solid wire for all low-voltage connections per the manufacturer wiring specification. Verify thermostat type and system configuration match one of the supported modes before powering the panel.
