The DAKOTA SOURCING 13133 is a copper fitting reducer designed to connect two different-size copper tubing runs in a sweat-fit piping system. This reducer accepts a 1-1/8 inch outer diameter (1 inch inner diameter) fitting-end connection on one side and a 7/8 inch outer diameter (3/4 inch inner diameter) cup-end connection on the other, following the standard FTG x C configuration. Plumbers and HVAC technicians use this type of reducer to step down line sizes within refrigerant, hydronic, or potable-water copper piping assemblies without the need for an additional coupling.
This fitting is suited for residential and light commercial installations where a sweat-soldered transition between a 1-1/8 inch OD and a 7/8 inch OD copper line is required. Typical applications include refrigerant suction or liquid line modifications, domestic hot and cold water distribution piping, and hydronic heating and cooling systems where tube sizing changes at branch points or equipment connections.
Designed as an OEM-style sweat-fit copper reducer for use with standard ACR and plumbing copper tubing systems requiring a step-down from 1-1/8 inch OD to 7/8 inch OD line sizes.
Installation should be performed by a licensed plumber or HVAC technician following applicable local plumbing codes and IFGC or IPC guidelines as appropriate. Shut off and isolate the system, and verify the line is fully depressurized and dry before cutting and fitting. Clean all mating surfaces with emery cloth or a pipe-cleaning brush and apply flux before sweating the joint. Avoid applying excessive heat to the fitting body, as overheating can compromise the integrity of the solder joint.
